Don’t sit down because you’re just gonna stand right back up, Bethesda has confirmed that their new Dawguard DLC is, in fact, called “Dawnguard.” Shocking, I know! They also announced that it will be released for the Xbox 360 this summer but have no information on other platforms. It’s likely that they’ll release it on the 360 prior to PS3 and PC probably due to an exclusivity contract with Microsoft. They stated that there will be more information on the DLC released at E3.

Seems to me like they might be building up too much hype but then again I have no idea how much they plan to add to the game with this content. I’m still putting my non-existent money on the chance that “Dawnguard” is the name of a place, as I mentioned in an older post upon the news that Bethesda registered a trademark under that name. It might be a town or a fortress, no way to know for sure, but we’ll find out. Something tells me that if it is a place, there’ll be a lot more content added along with it that has little to nothing to do with it, as suggested by the file names which were uncovered that give mention of a “Snow Elf Prince” and crossbows. We shall see at E3 what comes of this DLC, but as a PC owner of the game, I personally don’t care too much about it. I have my vast plethora of free mods to keep me happy if this DLC doesn’t live up to the hype…
