With this latest update related to the long awaited sequel to Mirror’s Edge (thought to be a dead project for a while), EA says it’s not merely a matter of if they will make the game, but “when and how.”

“It’s on the list. It’s just about looking at what teams are available, who’s got the right quality approach to it, and who understands it,” EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said, in an interview with Game Informer. In 2011, the project was said to have been postponed, and then later even, Gibeau said that the sequel would run on Frostbite 2, the same engine for Battlefield 3. These details hinted that EA was likely still planning the sequel.

“We love Faith. We love the property. It’s really about how and when do you bring it back?” Gibeau said. Many fans of the original game might find the fact that DICE is not developing the sequel to be disconcerting news. Hopefully things do turn out for the better, but we have no choice but to cross our fingers in hopes that EA handles things well.
