Hot off the race track is some new information that racing sim fans might be interested in, Gran Turismo 6 is already in full production by Polyphony Digital. This is according to a professional driver who spoke to Polish PlayStation fan site PS3Site.
The story goes that a member of the site took part in the finals of the recent GT Academy in Warsaw, Poland. At the event was Nissan driver Lucas Ordoñez, who was kind enough to have a little chat with the press about the Gran Turismo series and its future.
The driver revealed during the chat that Gran Turismo 6 is already in full production and that gamers will very surprised with how realistic and impressive the tracks will look. There will also apparently be quite of number of them in the final game.
Finally, Ordoñez was asked what platforms the game will eventually be released on, for which he simply replied, “This is a very good question…” There has been speculation in the past few months that the game could be released on both PS3 and PS Vita simultaneously. It’s also very possible that the game could very well jump onto the PS4 instead since next gen is so close.
We can’t confirm all the details, but if Lucas Ordoñez said this then it’s highly likely to be true. He’s not only a professional driver for Nissan, he also became a race car driver thanks to Gran Turismo and is considered the face of GT Academy. We’ll bring you more details as they come in.
