Back in May, Crytek’s director of creative development¬†Rasmus Hoejengaard said there was “not a fat chance” when asked whether Crysis 3 would come out for the Wii U. Things have changed since then, and Crytek producer Mike Read now confirms that they’ve actually formed a partnership with Nintendo.

So does this mean that Crysis 3 could make it to Nintendo’s next gen console? Read told the following to CVG in a recent interview.

“I wouldn’t say there’s no chance. I wouldn’t say no chance. I mean the Wii U still doesn’t have any kind of release date attached to it at this point. Who knows what the future will bring with it.”

Read goes on to say that they are indeed “working with Nintendo, and that’s about all I can say on that front.” He says he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a Wii U version of the game, but that since the console has no official release date yet, they don’t know if they can get the game ready in time. Read concludes by simply stating that, “I wouldn’t rule it out, but you know, it is a possibility.”
