There was talk before coming from Dean Hall, the man in charge of DayZ, saying that he wanted to turn it into its own standalone game, rather than it simply being an ArmA II mod. Well, now it’s actually official, Dean Hall and the rest of Bohemia Interactive will be publishing the game, and that’s not the only interesting news.

Hall also noted that the game is going to “follow the Minecraft development model”, and by that he is referring to “fast iterations with the community alpha available for a heavily discounted price.” On top of this, they’re still going to support the servers for the mod alongside their development of the DayZ game, so people can keep playing that also.
