It’s been a long time since we’ve had a Counter-Strike game, but that all changes tomorrow with the release of the highly anticipated Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Valve’s sequel to their hit franchise introduces a number of new mechanics, maps, game modes and a nice upgrade in visuals.
In order to celebrate the launch of the game, Valve did what any good company would do: they created an intense and cinematic trailer. Of course, Valve created their trailer using their very own Source Film Maker, a free piece of software that has allowed gamers to create some pretty impressive short films using the Source Engine.
I personally haven’t gotten my hands on CS: GO yet, but I’ve played everything from CS 1.6, Condition Zero, and of course the extremely fun Counter-Strike: Source. Hopefully GO will be as open to original game types as Source was, I can’t even remember how many hours I wasted just on surfing and zombie maps alone.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive comes out tomorrow, August 21, on PC, MAC, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network for $14.99.
