It’s no surprise that the Call of Duty franchise keeps breaking records with the launch of every new game. What is surprising, though, is that it doesn’t seem like the franchise will be slowing down anytime soon. Black Ops 2 is no exception, and now according to GameStop the game might be the biggest release in history.
GameStop president Tony Bartel revealed in a recent statement that Black Ops is on its way to becoming one of the biggest games ever released.
“Consumer anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops II is tremendous. We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history. With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time.”
Black Ops 2 will arrive with plenty of content in the form of a brand new branching single player campaign, competitive multiplayer, and an expanded Zombies mode that now has its own story and new multiplayer additions. Call of Duty Elite will also now be free to all players and new content will be released through a Season Pass instead.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will arrive on November 13 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. A Wii U version will follow on November 18.
